Christmas Stockings

After finishing baby shower gifts for the seventy-five friends I have due in December, I was thrilled to start on some of my own baby projects. But first, I decided to throw a few more things into the mix. There's still plenty of time before the baby comes, right?

As we were putting up our Christmas decorations, I decided that we need matching stockings. Abby hasn't had a stocking yet and Sam and I have been using our stockings from our childhood (cute, but not cohesive.) We looked for ideas online and found one we liked at BOMquilts.com. We went to JoAnn's, made a few adjustments, and ended up with these beauties:

I think they turned out adorable. I'm probably most proud of the fact that three of the four stockings are lined with the fabric leftover from hemming my curtains. Hooray for repurposing! It was also my first time using a decorative stitch on my sewing machine. It is totally amazing to me that somebody invented that!

Next on the docket: Christmas presents for Abby--a new file folder game and clothes for her baby.

75 pregnant friends = a lot of babies. That's good though. I like babies.
